Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc.

It started in the UK in 1988 and that year the BBC broadcasted a TV programme where several celebrities encouraged people to donate. The icon of this public charity campaign is a red nose. The campaign brings people together to have fun, raise money and change the lives of kids who need our help the most. Red Nose Day is on a mission to end child poverty – one nose at a time. Money raised supports programs that ensure children in need around the world are safe, healthy and educated.

Today Red Nose Day is a worldwide well-known charity event, so if you see people wearing red noses this Thursday 25 May 2017 you’ll know the reason why.
