Today we celebrate Labor Day here in Spain but in America, it is celebrated on the first Monday of September.  It also marks the end of the summer for most Americans because on the Tuesday after Labor Day, school starts.  This day honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country. It is also a national holiday as it is here in Spain and to celebrate, nobody works and there are big ¨end of summer ¨ parties.  People typically have barbecues and pool parties with their friends and family. Contrary to American Labor Day… today is also May Day and for some it marks the beginning of good weather!
