Today we are celebrate the STAR WARS DAY!!!! Do you know why today? It’s because the “May the fourth” rhymes with the famous quote from the saga “May the force be with you”.
Apparently, this phrase was also used when Margaret Thatcher became the Prime minister of the UK on May 4th, 1979, and it sounded like this: May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations! (this phrase was also used in a defence debate in the UK Parliament 15 years later).
May 4th became so popular among the fans of LucasFilm and they continued playing with the dates and finally converted May 5th into Revenge of the Fifth (making a reference to a play entitled Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith) when they join the Dark Side.
I must admit I’m not a great fan of Star Wars but I do respect their followers (my family, friends and of course STUDENTS included).
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU THEN!!!!
