Do you have triskadekaphobia?  It’s the scientific name for the fear of the number 13.  Some people take this very personal.  Today is Tuesday, the 13th and although it doesn’t mean anything in the USA, where I grew up fearing Friday the 13th, I am reminded of this fear.  Personally, I pay no mind to the dates but some people are extremely superstitious.  It is said that the superstition surrounded this day has begun in the Middle Ages.  Maybe you don’t believe that the number 13 is bad luck but you may have grown up with other superstitions.  Let’s make a list together!

I’ll start:

  1. If a black cat crosses your path, you will have bad luck.
  2. If you walk under a ladder, you will have bad luck.

There are also good superstitions.  For example, It is said that a rabbits foot brings good luck.  Some people even wear them as necklaces or have them as keychains.
